Thai Express

Had a delicious time at ThaiExpress Singapore. Tried their Thai BBQ Chicken with rice, and it was a flavor party in my mouth! 🍚 The chicken was perfectly fried, juicy, and had that authentic Thai BBQ goodness. The spices were just right, and the aroma had me drooling before the first bite. If you're a Thai food lover, this place is a good-to-try lah!

Went to Thai Express for a late dinner and was quickly directed to the next available table. Ordered our meals through the QR code and after awhile food was ready. The ambience inside the restaurant area was pretty romantic. However there were two negatives for me. One, the tables are positioned quite closely between each other. Two, as it was approaching closing time, the staff was eager for diners to settle our bills and make payments although patrons were in the midst of eating their dinner. Otherwise it was pretty alright.

Not impressed with the service. Was there for dinner a bit late today, around 8.35 pm. Waited for nearly 10 minutes before someone actually "saw us". Was then informed that they would be closing so we need to place our order and pay at the cashier. We were fine with that since that's their sop. What I wasn't prepared for was being seated at a table with dirty chairs. Had to clean the chairs myself as the waiter walked away immediately after showing us to our table. What's worse was that the table that we were given was one that had just been cleaned minutes ago. Obviously the waiter had conveniently swept all food off the table. The food took a very long time to arrive. Our mango salad was brought to the table without cutleries. We couldn't eat it even if we wanted to. Basil chicken came without cutleries too, this time we caught the waiter fast enough to ask for cutleries. The beef noodles came last and took an EXTRA long time. We realised after eating some that the mango salad was prepared wrongly, we had ordered a non-spicy version but given one with chili padi in it. As it was late we didn't ask for a change. Our Basil Chicken rice came without BASIL!!! but with lots of chili padi making it way too spicy. Beef noodle was ok. Unfortunately for us, dinner was spoilt. Worse was when we informed the waiter about the mistake with the mango salad preparation she seemed to not know how to react to it. Won't be returning to this outlet again.

Good location at basement of Raffles City mall! Standard Thai express decor but probably the branch with the slowest service ! Some of the food in the menu was not available ! Tried the fish cakes , was nice ! The green chicken curry rice was very average and the soft shell crab noodles is avoidable! Need to buy water here like most other branches Tried the Chendol , was poorly presented nothing like the pic in the menu nor tasted good ! The staff appeared overworked and or unable to cope up The service was painfully slow and will probably not visit again ! The quality of food appears to have deteriorated over time or in this branch as visited the chain after a while !

Surprisingly the best basil chicken rice i had so far considering its a chain restaurant. Had two basil rice from thai family restaurants in the past month but this blows them out of the water. The chicken was generously coated in their salty sweet sauce with good basil fragrance and right amount of spiciness (Request for less spicy if u are wary). Highly recommend. The prawn omelette sadly was like a typical zhi char stall one, not like the super crispy and fragrant thai style ones. Service was just functional during lunch time, no added attention or smiles. But food served fast. Definitely will go back just for the basil chicken rice.
